We are very excited about the opportunity to be participating once again in WBB’s Warrior Gathering.
As part of their commitment to our service men and women, WBB, in partnership with organizations such as Troops First, will host an all-expense paid retreat for 25 injured service members and their families at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA from August 28th-30th. Warrior Gathering (WG) 2013 will feature sporting and leisure activities such as golf, fly fishing, horseback riding, zip-lining as well as world class spa treatments and relaxation in a beautiful setting. In addition, there will be keynote speakers featured during our dinner events. Past honored speakers included the Governor of Pennsylvania,Thomas Corbett and Sergeant First Class Leroy Petry, Medal of Honor recipient.
What started as a program to provide comfort items and a night out on the town for wounded service members and their families has quickly evolved into a focused effort to assist warriors in their recovery.
The purpose of the Warrior Gatherings is to help injured service members and their families by providing an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and relieve the stresses of post-injury life. Warrior Gathering 2013 will provide a much needed respite from the injuries of the body, mind and stresses of hospital life by providing;
• A relaxing environment for quality family time
• Peer group support in an informal setting
• Group activities (i.e. fly fishing, golf tournaments, spa treatment, etc.)
• A venue for spouses and family members to connect and learn from each other
Central to WBB’s culture is a strong sense of duty to give back to those who have sacrificed their health and wellbeing in service to the nation over the last decade of warfare. The nature of the conflict, coupled with modern combat, has resulted in unprecedented numbers of young service men and women returning home with serious injuries to both mind and body. WBB actively supports organizations and initiatives dedicated to improving wellness and quality of life for heroes and their families.
